Classic necklaces, for example, frequently consist of serial parts. In this case, the individual pieces of the TUBE NECKLACE are tube sections which, like spherical elements, are a common form used to make chains.
The main modification I make is the right-angle recess on one or both sides of the metal tube. The procedure causes a "disruption" in the necklace parts and in the usual perception of the supple appearance of the necklace. Strung together, the parts do not press tightly against each other in a conventional manner; rather they slip into different formations in and with each other, shifting continuously into new variations. They stick out in all directions, open and then close again, or fall into a row one behind the other, like scales.
